Managing Director Mickey Thompson will develop, promote, grow and maximize performance results for the targeted market niche of competition, performance and enthusiast products for the company, as well as for the global motorsports activities. This position ensures the company achieves its financial goals, fosters a positive culture, and maintains strong relationships with stakeholders. This role requires exceptional leadership, business acumen, and strategic thinking to drive long-term success.
The incumbent is responsible for creating, communicating and implementing the organizations' vision, mission and overall direction. He/She will oversee the complete operation of the organization (in accordance with the direction established in the strategic plans) and develop talent for the organization.
He/She will focus on developing, maintaining, and improving organizational efficiency to maximize profitability and revenue. This role involves strategic planning, hands-on management, and ensuring operations align with the company's overall goals.
Job Duties / Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
• Provide strategic direction and tactical leadership for the Mickey Thompson organization (aligned with the Mickey Thompson Board of Directors and Goodyear).
• Understand trends and competitive forces in performance, enthusiast and motorsports segments.
• Drive results through team of Sales, Operations, Distribution, Product Development and Marketing leaders to execute the strategy and achieve annual operating plan (AOP).
• Lead and inspire a team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
• Coach, mentor, and develop the leadership team and other team members to achieve growth and success.
• Ensure strong succession/development plans are in place and practiced throughout the organization.
• Own/Evolve the strategy for Mickey Thompson brand and customer experience.
• Identify and build relationships with key stakeholders, including customers and partners.
• Ensure plans are developed, implemented and monitored in conjunction with relevant cross functional teams and aligned with the Global brand strategy.
KEY EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree
• 14 or more years of experience in Sales or Management
• Managing profit and loss (P&L) for a business or segment of a business
• Experience working with large strategic customers at senior levels
• Successfully leading, developing, and motivating cross functional teams
• Demonstrated ability to profitably grow a business and develop/execute strategies
KEY SKILLS
• Proven leadership skills for managing others
• Ability to develop strategic plans
• Thorough knowledge of the industry and competition
• Understanding of how organization operates enterprise wide (PBUs, SBUs, functions,
etc.)
