Description:

The Director, Facility Design will deliver huge impact both on the customer experience and on performance of the Fulfillment Centre organization.

In this role you will be directly responsible for the process optimization and FC Design. You work on improvement projects aimed to streamlining activities, while driving performance and quality. You will be given a real opportunity to shape your organization with ideas that could be rolled out across the Coupang network.

This role requires a high-level of ownership over the end-to-end process, the ability to think outside of the box, willingness to disrupt the current processes to create a new one, the ability to design sustainable solutions and influence stakeholders, ensuring service excellence whilst continuously improving our processes. This position is in Seoul, Korea.

Key responsibilities:

  • You will play a critical role in Operations Engineering and Design Excellence.
  • Driving continuous process improvement and make our customer experience better than ever.
  • Own infrastructure capacity plans by region/site, aligned with volume forecasts and business growth.
  • Identify short-term constraints and develop mitigation plans (e.g., shifts, reallocation, or temp capacity).
  • Partner with real estate, construction, and operations to deliver new infrastructure on time and within scope.
  • Track actual vs. planned capacity utilization and maintain dynamic models for near-term and long-term planning.
  • Analyze throughput, processing rates, and labor models to validate infrastructure assumptions.
  • Support peak planning, retrofits, and layout changes that influence site capacity.
  • Present capacity risks and investment recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Drive strategic decisions on where to place capacity to support future demand and business growth.
  • Partner with finance, operations, and technology teams to implement network changes and track impact.
  • Communicates project outputs to senior leaders; and creates strategy for long term roadmap.

Essential qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent)
  • Experience in e-commerce, retail, or third-party logistics environments.
  • Knowledge of FC operations, process flows, and material handling systems.
  • Must be able to demonstrate effective problem-solving and analytical capability. Thrive on change, inclined to operate with flexibility and commit the time required to get the job done.
  • Passionate about achieving results and driving production through efficiency and process improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with business partners and key stakeholders and the ability to work under pressure in a cross functional organization.
  • Strong analytical skills, including experience tools such as SQL, Excel, and visualization platforms.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across process, operations, finance, and other central teams.

Document Return Policy
